Data Science student Darren Budiman studied with The University of Oklahoma (OU) in the US through CityU’s Student Exchange Programme.
“OU’s campus is huge. There are more than 25,000 undergraduate students. It takes around 45 minutes to walk from one side of the campus to another, but we have a bus service available for OU members during weekdays.”
“The library is my favorite place. It has a ‘Hogwarts’ kind of vibe, and it is very comfortable for you to stay, even if you just want to take a break from your routines. It’s also the perfect place for study.”
“We also have an American football stadium which can accommodate 85,000 people. It’s fully occupied in every football match here.”
“The system of teaching here is kinda different. There are lots of discussions and QnA, which give you a better understanding of the topics. Other than that, classes are relatively shorter, with a maximum of 1.5 hours per course per day. However, each class has at least one assignment per week, making the workload a bit heavier than expected.”
“During my semester at OU, I went on a 4-day trip to Colorado, a very beautiful place often overlooked by international tourists. Many of my US friends recommended me to go there, as the scenery is beautiful. It is indeed one of the most beautiful places I have been to!”
“I shared an accommodation with three other people from three different countries - Japan, the Netherlands, and France. We got along very well, and we even planned road trips together!”
“It’s definitely one of the best times of my life!”
