Dr Roy Chung Chi-ping meets with recipients of Bright Future Whole Person Development Scholarships
Professor Way Kuo, President of CityUHK, hosted a gathering for Dr Roy Chung Chi-ping, Co-founder of Techtronic Industries Company Limited and Chairman of Bright Future Charitable Foundation, and the recipients of the Bright Future Whole Person Development Scholarships at CityUHK in May 2021. The gathering was also joined by Ms Rebecca Lee, Administration Director of the Foundation; Professor Matthew Lee, Vice-President (Development and External Relations); Ms Kathy Chan, Associate Vice-President (Development and Alumni Relations); Professor Shek Chan-hung, Associate Dean (Education) of the College of Engineering; Professor Henry Chung, Associate Dean (Research) of the College; and Mr Gavin Kwok, Director (Development Office).
At the gathering, President Kuo expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Dr Chung for his staunch support to CityUHK over the years. The scholarship recipients were grateful to have the opportunity to thank Dr Chung for his generosity in person, and shared with him how the scholarship transformed their lives. In addition to sharing his personal experience, Dr Chung encouraged the students to enjoy and make the most of their university lives for getting prepared to work and contribute to society in the future.
Established by Dr Chung in 2005, the Bright Future Charitable Foundation aims to support the diversity of education and enhance the welfare of our society. Since 2016, the Foundation has donated to CityUHK and set up the Bright Future Whole Person Development Scholarships to encourage top-performing students to pursue their studies in engineering, become all-rounded professionals and contribute to society with their knowledge.
