CityUHK Endowment Campaign Kicks off with 35 Individual Endowed Funds
On 24 November 2024, CityUHK celebrated its 30th anniversary and the 10th anniversary of the Foundation with a grand banquet attended by stakeholders, staff, students, and alumni. During this milestone event, the University officially launched the “CityUHK Endowment Campaign,” aimed at securing sustainable resources for its future and the next generations.
To commemorate its anniversary, CityUHK started to invite supporters and alumni to establish individual endowed funds earlier this year. Since the Campaign's inception, 35 individual endowed funds have been newly set up in total, which exceeds the original target of 30. At the banquet, the University acknowledged the generous support of the founding donors, including alumni, Council members, and old and new friends, for providing it with sustainable resources for exploring new possibilities in multiple realms.
The Endowment Campaign focuses on four key areas: strategic initiatives, education and research development, student development, and community engagement. Contributions will enable CityUHK to address real-world challenges with innovative solutions, allowing the University to implement new programmes such as the Institute of Digital Medicine and the Hong Kong Institute of AI for Science. Donations will also help attract distinguished international scholars, enhance academic excellence, support talented students to reach their full potential, and strengthen ties with the local community to address pressing needs through knowledge transfer. The donations will be kept intact as principals and managed as endowment funds on a perpetual basis, according to the stipulated guidelines of the university, ensuring an enduring legacy.
