The College of Science advocates research innovation and technopreneurship. Global Research Enrichment and Technopreneurship (GREAT), an Undergraduate stream option, has been launched since the 2021 cohort, aiming to nurture undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career in scientific research or starting business ventures that involve using new scientific discoveries and innovative technologies. In recent years, faculty members, researchers, students and alumni of the College have established start-ups, including “ITsci Company Limited” and “NerOcean Limited”, under the University’s large-scale flagship innovation and entrepreneurship programme “HK Tech 300”, to embark on their journey of entrepreneurship.
International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva (IEIG), an annual event dedicated to inventions, provides a unique opportunity for inventors and researchers to present the results of their research and their new products. The 49th IEIG, held from 17 to 21 April 2024 in Switzerland, featured over 1,000 inventions from 38 countries and regions worldwide.
