Nano and Advanced Materials Institute (NAMI)
The focus of this position is to conduct applied research that translates to the development of sustainable herbal products for different beverage applications. The appointee will be responsible for laboratory equipment operation and prototype sample preparation, properties characterization, data analysis, and performance testing. The appointee will be expected to:
- Fabricate prototypes for trials and commercialization;
- Collaborate with other research staff on R&D and scale-up work;
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills in the choice of active herbal ingredients, oral and/or topical formulation development;
- Facilitate the daily operations of the team; and
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
- BSc or MSc in Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, Food Technology, Biology or related disciplines;
- Experience in food and beverage industry is an advantage;
- Good command of English and Chinese, articulate report writing / presentation skills;
- Self-motivated, work independently and able to communicate in teamwork;
- Positive, analytical, critical thinking and good troubleshooting skill; and
- Effective time management and prioritization skills for balancing multiple projects simultaneously.
