Job Description

The appointee will mainly work on synthesizing nano-sized materials, especially for inorganic materials such as metal and non-metal compounds. Polymerized materials or mixtures might also be used for developing further products. This appointee will be responsible for:
• Synthesizing nano- and advanced metal / non-metal compounds, such as metal oxides;
• Developing product containing nano- and advanced metal / non-metal compounds;
• Surface treatment of various inorganic or organic substrates;
• Characterizing chemical, physical and mechanical properties of inorganic powder or mixed products;
• Developing the lab-scale materials to final / semi-final products;
• Evaluating performance of prototypes;
• Liaison and cooperate with industrial partners on R&D works;
• Scaling-up of manufacturing process from the laboratory scale to a scale at which it is commercially feasible; and
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

Job Requirement

• PhD degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or related disciplines;
• Expertise in multiple investigation & testing of chemical, physical, mechanical properties;
• Experience of working on nano- / advanced inorganic materials is preferred;
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; Competent in technical writing and reporting, ability to initiate and work independently;
• Capability of working under pressure & multi-tasking;
• Good analytical and troubleshooting skills and passionate in creative & innovative works; and
• Ability to work independently and able to communicate in teamwork.
