CityU Wireless LAN
With any properly configured IEEE802.11a/b/g/n/ac compliance wireless device, no matter whether it is a smart phone, tablet or notebook computer, you can use your LAN connection password to gain access to the wireless network.
Two options of connection methods are supported:
- secure connection with data encryption via WPA2
- insecure connection without data encryption via web logon (captive portal)
The CSC strongly recommends WLAN users to use option 1, i.e. the secure connection for the sake of data privacy and protection. The insecure connection should not be used unless your device does not support WPA2 and data privacy is not important.
