A delegation from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (the Ministry) visited City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) on 3 April. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr Lester Garson Huang, Council Chairman of CityUHK, along with members of the senior management team.
The delegation was led by Mr Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Other delegates included Mr Almas Seitakynov, Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Hong Kong and Macao, and Rector Meiram Begentayev of Satbayev University (SU).
Mr Huang welcomed the delegation on their return trip to CityUHK. Mr Huang said CityUHK, the Ministry and SU could achieve their common goals with a shared commitment to excellence, innovation and cultural exchange.
Accompanied by Professor Steven Wang, Associate Vice-President (Resources Planning), Professor Jennifer Lin Fen, Associate Vice-President (Global Strategy), and Ms Candy Chouk, Director of the Cultural Exchange Oasis, about 20 CityUHK students from Kazakhstan shared their campus experience with the delegation. They discussed their integration into the local environment and their cultural exchanges with their peers.
