Minor Degree Programmes
The Minor Programmes offered by the Department of Chemistry is targeted for non-chemistry students especially in business, engineering, humanities, law and science.
Options for you to choose:
Minor in Analytical and Environmental Chemistry
Minor in Chemical Sciences
Aims
This minor aims to increase students’ understanding of Analytical and Environmental Chemistry at the post-secondary level, hence preparing them for further studies.
Minor Intended Learning Outcomes (MILOs)
Upon successful completion of this minor, students should be able to comprehend:
- the basic concepts of analytical and environmental chemistry;
- the chemical and biochemical phenomena occurring in the environment;
- the common analytical instruments and methods for chemical, biological, industrial and environmental samples;
- the effects of natural and synthetic compounds such as additives and pesticides on the environment.
