Way-finding System on Campus
A Way-finding system is delicately designed and installed on Campus for providing an user-friendly navigation. In view of the extensive campus areas, a “Gathering Point System” on Campus is adopted to create the sense of place.
Using letter characters and simplified graphics, the system allows people to follow the directional signs with ease. They can first find the Gathering Points and then follow the directions to go to the rooms or areas they are heading.
Gathering Point
English alphabet letters are used at Gathering Points to denote the locations which are close to specific building entrances or at common meeting points.

At the Gathering Point, there is an eye-catching pillar sign post displaying large size alphabet letters at the top. Underneath the huge letter are the directions to other Gathering Points and key features such as carpark location. Photos are added on the Campus Map for better legibility. Users can easily identify the location they want to go by following the Alphabet Directional Signs.
Campus Directory
Additional Campus Directories are installed at critical locations for campus users to ensure that their correct routing has been selected. Each Campus Directory composes of the following information, a three-dimensional CityUHK logo, a campus map orientated according to the location and direction of the Campus Directory and the building names (in both English, Chinese & their abbreviations).
The Master Campus Directory at Wong’s International Terrace contains more information such as the names of faculties, departments and the ancillary facilities. They are shown in alphabetical order for easy finding.
Directional Signs
In order to make the Way-finding System more effective, different types of directional signs are installed en route to direct campus users heading to the Gathering Points and to different rooms and facilities.
