Technology Transfer Achievements at CityU
CityU continues to excel in technology transfer, achieving impressive recognition both locally and globally. It was ranked the first in Hong Kong for the 7th consecutive year and ranked 44th worldwide according to the “Top 100 worldwide universities granted U.S. Utility patents in 2023”, as published by the National Academy of Inventors in the U.S.
CityU researchers have consistently shone in different international and local invention events. At the 48th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, they garnered an impressive total of 36 awards, including one Special Prize, three Gold Medals with Congratulations of the Jury, 17 Gold Medals, nine Silver Medals and six Bronze Medals. This is the third year running that CityU has received the highest number of awards among local institutions.
These accomplishments reflect CityU’s excellence in high-quality research and innovation.
Currently, CityU has over 1,400 patent assets available for licensing across diverse research fields.
