Exercise is Medicine
® On Campus (“EIM-OC”) programme is co-launched by the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Medical Association to encourage faculties, staff, and students of institutions to work together to improve health and well-being of the campus community. CityU EIM-OC Task Force was launched in 2016 to help the University achieve Gold level designation.
The task force encourages ongoing endeavours such as health talks, physical fitness courses, and activities. In addition, health and fitness assessments are organised throughout the year.
With the establishment of a referral system between healthcare professionals of the on-campus medical clinic and health fitness professionals in the Physical Education Section, Student Development Services, and the collaborated effort from different departments around the Campus, CityU has earned gold-level recognition with the 2021 COVID-19 Conqueror badge.
The award highlights how CityU fosters physical activity as a vital sign of health and encourages the campus community to work together to improve health and well-being. This aspiration matches the advocacy of the “One Health” concept at CityU.
