Introduction

CareER is the first charity for higher-educated students/graduates with disabilities and/or special educational needs (SEN) in Hong Kong. CareER is honoured to continue launching the CareER Scholarship Program 2025. The scholarship aims to recognise students with disabilities and/or SEN in the pursuit of excellence in serving the community and achievement in extracurricular activities and their willingness to challenge themselves to experience new exposures. Hence, their academic achievements are NOT the main focus of the selection criteria.

Eligibility

Eligibility and Criteria

  • Applicants must be holders of a valid Hong Kong PERMANENT identity card, which states that the holder has the right of abode in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR)
  • Applicants must have a disability or special educational needs (SEN) confirmed by medical professional(s) with the relevant supporting document issued within 1 year
  • Incoming exchange students not pursuing their entire academic programmes at their relative schools are NOT eligible for the award
  • Post-secondary applicants must be current students (2024/25) or graduates of local higher education institutions, regardless of the funding source of the institutions, i.e. both self-financing local programmes and publicly-funded programmes are eligible.
  • Senior-secondary applicants must be current students in Form 4 to 6 at local schools (including special schools) in the academic year of 2024/25
