IHEP-CityU Joint Laboratory on Neutron Scattering recently awarded a HK$3.75 million grant from the RGC

The IHEP-CityU Joint Laboratory on Neutron Scattering was recently awarded a HK$3.75 million grant from the Research Grants Council (RGC) under the Co-funding Mechanism on Joint Laboratories with the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).  Co-established by CityU and the CAS Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), the Joint Laboratory on Neutron Scattering promotes collaboration between China Spallation Neutron Source in Dongguan and Hong Kong scientists. The grand opening of the Joint Laboratory was held on February 27, 2019.  In the latest five-year assessment commissioned jointly by RGC and CAS, the IHEP-CityU Joint Laboratory on Neutron Scattering was rated “Outstanding,” one of the four joint laboratories out of the twenty-two across Hong Kong universities receiving such a rating. Professor Hesheng Chen of IHEP and Professor Xun-Li Wang of CityU are co-Directors of the Joint Laboratory.  The new grant will be used for collaborations, academic exchanges, and outreach programs to expand the user base.
