Biography
Prof Chong Chee Mun is the CEO of Solar Skin Pty Limited, a spin-out company from the University of New South Wales (UNSW Sydney) based in Sydney Australia. He has established the first pilot production line for large-area perovskite solar modules in Australia and continues to focus on the commercialisation of perovskite solar modules and BIPV modules.
He is also a member of the academic staff at the Faculty of Engineering in Macquarie University, Sydney. His research focus is advanced high efficiency solar cells.
Prior to his current position, Prof Chong was the Director of Industry Collaboration at the Photovoltaics Centre of Excellence in UNSW Sydney for over 10 years. He was also the leader of both the UNSW Advanced Hydrogenation research team and the UNSW Module Recycling research team.
Prof Chong undertook his PhD studies at UNSW Sydney under the supervision of Scientia Prof Martin Green, who is commonly known as the “Father of Photovoltaics”. Since receiving his PhD degree, Prof Chong has worked for various world-leading organisations, including Exxon-Mobil, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and Arthur D. Little International Inc.
