Two-day Study Tour of Lingnan Guang Embroidery
Two-day Study Tour of Lingnan Guang Embroidery

Guangxiuzhuang in Shunde is an embroidery craftsmanship factory with a history of several decades whose mission is to inherit the national intangible cultural heritage of Guang Embroidery. With their exquisite handcraftsmanship and the integration of modern aesthetic sensibilities, they produce and export unique and chic shawls highly appreciated by European customers. This study tour will visit its production headquarter to explore the making of a piece of shawl and understand how traditional Chinese craftsmanship is being repositioned and revitalized with new opportunities.

Chenjiaci (Chen Family Ancestral Hall), now known as the Guangdong Folk Art Museum, collects various types of Guang embroidery and preserves a wide range of handicrafts. Its architecture combines decorative arts from the Lingnan region, such as carving, pottery, and painting, making it highly valuable for appreciation.
