TANG Xiaofeng
The Masterworks of a Capital: Changan in Han and Tang Dynasties

TANG Xiaofeng studied archaeology in the Department of History, and received a master’s degree in the Department of Geography (Historical Geography) at Peking University. He obtained his PhD in Human Geography from the Department of Geography at Syracuse University, USA. TANG worked as a Professor and doctoral supervisor at the Institute of Historical Geography, College of Urban and Environmental Sciences, Peking University. His main research directions are historical human geography, history of geography thought, and historical geography of Beijing.

Major academic publications include: From Dynastic Geography to Historical Geography, From Chaos to Order: On the History of Chinese Ancient Geographical Thought, Cultural Geography Interpretation, New Human Geography Essays, etc.
