Guang embroidered shawls were exported goods of China as early as the 17th century but were mistakenly named "Manila Shawls". This lecture will explore the reasons and introduce the history of Guang embroidery trade to the West, in which Hong Kong merchants also played an important role. In addition to introducing the history, there will be a display of exquisite shawls to let everyone appreciate the craftsmanship of Guang embroidery.
