Chinese Traditional Incense

Chinese incense culture can be chased back to 4,000 years ago. Just like the origin all over the world, Chinese ancestors also found that some plants carry a fragrance aroma that could be used in festive activities and for religious purposes, creating a means to link up the earth and the divine heaven. Nowadays, Chinese incense has also become a form of individual entertainment and a special kind of traditional culture.

This is a 3-session workshop. The instructor will briefly introduce the historical development of incense in China. Participants are going to learn how to make tar incense, seal incense, and also a sachet with spice and fragrance herbs.
