Intangible Cultural Heritage Artist-in-Residence

Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) emphasizes traditions passed on from generation to generation, forming links between the past and the present and providing cultural identity and cohesion for communities. To help preserve ICH, the City University of Hong Kong has implemented a project named the "Intangible Cultural Heritage Artist-in-Residence". Inviting artists to teach basic techniques in a hands-on way helps students understand that not everything of value is new and done overnight, to cultivate their awareness of the value of our heritage and respect for people and things.

Virtual Temple

Launched in autumn 2020, the Virtual Temple is a fresh, and ongoing program whose main goal is to introduce local Chinese temples. There are a number of temples in Hong Kong that represent significant heritage and embody varying degrees of religious, historical, cultural, architectural, and community value. This project aims to publicize and promote local temples, enhance students' understanding and appreciation of traditional culture, and draw their attention to heritage conservation.
