CityUHK is committed to strengthening the connection, interaction and collaboration with the local community to bring about a positive change with collective benefits for the University and the community.

The initiative, co-organised by CityUHK and the Strive and Rise Alumni Club, and sponsored by the Grace Yu Ho Wun Youth Development Fund, aligns with this mission. It provides students with a glimpse into university life and the opportunities it presents, helping them to unlock their potential and create their future.

This activity catered to participants of the “Strive and Rise Programme” by the HKSAR government, which is designed to help mentees broaden their horizons, reinforce their self-confidence, develop a positive outlook on life, set goals for their future, and strive for upward mobility.

“We hope this event will empower students to delve into the abundant opportunities offered by CityUHK, enabling them to navigate their career paths, explore diverse development opportunities and ultimately create their own future,” said Professor Lee in his welcoming remarks.

Mr Sun said that a total of 2,800 students have graduated from the inaugural “Strive and Rise Programme”. He highlighted the steadfast commitment of the government to provide unwavering resources to nurture talent and that the core objective of the Programme is to empower students by equipping them with enhanced learning opportunities and facilitating the expansion of their horizons.

“As we progress in our personal growth journey, we inevitably experience moments of happiness, while facing various challenges,” said Ms Yu. “The Programme is designed to offer a range of platforms that enable students to gain inspiration in multiple areas.”
