City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) celebrated the Year of the Dragon at a staff party organised by the Human Resources Office on 22 February. This was the first time CityUHK has held the physical Chinese New Year staff party since the COVID-19 pandemic. It brought together over 1,000 faculty and staff members to enjoy a festive afternoon.
In his welcoming remarks, Professor Freddy Boey, CityUHK President, wished everyone in the University a happy and prosperous year ahead.
Highlights of the party included an eye-dotting ceremony, performed by President Boey for a captivating lion dance performance, a “Lo Hei” ceremony to wish for abundance and good fortune, the appearance of two Gods of Wealth, an enchanting singing performance by CityUHK staff members, a stunning Shaolin kung fu performance, and a festive performance by the CityUHK Chinese Orchestra.
The party concluded with a much-anticipated lucky draw, adding excitement and joy to the event.
