President Way Kuo has shown his support for exercise and well-being lately at City University of Hong Kong (CityU).

He joined a virtual kick-off ceremony on 18 November for the EIM (Exercise is Medicine) Gold Campus 2021 Virtual Prelude; and he attended the 27th CityU Annual Athletic Meet on 15 November at the Joint Sports Centre (JSC) in Kowloon Tong.

The EIM prelude provided a timely reminder for the University community to exercise regularly and foster good physical and mental health as both symbolised CityU’s continuous support for a “Healthy U”.

“CityU is not only recognised academically, but it also pays close attention to the health of CityU community, which is directly related to the ‘soulware’ that I always promote,” said President Kuo.

“Since 2018, CityU has launched year-round wellness activities for all CityU members. To go further, CityU is aiming for the EIM Gold Campus Award in 2021,” he added.

CityU received the Gold Campus Award for 2020 under the Exercise is Medicine® On Campus programme, co-launched by the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Medical Association.

Meanwhile, to promote track and field events and a healthy lifestyle, President Kuo was the guest of honour at the 27th CityU Annual Athletic Meet on 15 November. He kicked off this event by leading staff and students on a run around the track at JSC. He also cheered for the athletes at different events.
