Aims of Minor

This minor aims to educate students from other majors than Biomedical Engineering/Bioengineering to master knowledge in a cross-disciplinary area combining engineering and life sciences. The objectives of the minor are to provide integrative educational opportunities that allow students to get professional training in biomedical engineering while enhancing their own individual major studies. The students will learn passionately how to think critically and independently, and innovate creatively so that they can be well prepared for the following:
  • Professional employment in areas where biomedical engineering knowledge will play important assistive roles, such as the health device industry, medical services and various other life science industries where advancement of various biotechnologies is demanded.
  • Contribution to community and professional groups through integration of their interpersonal skills with biomedical engineering educational experiences.

Intended Learning Outcomes of Minor (MINILOs)

Upon successful completion of this minor, students should be able to:
  1. Describe the concepts and techniques in the subject domain to serve the biomedical engineering and related sectors.
  2. Demonstrate inter-disciplinary knowledge and skills in engineering and life sciences needed to cope with the dynamic nature of the community.
  3. Integrate their interpersonal skills in biomedical engineering.
  4. Reflect a broad technical and social outlook, the right working attitude and professionalism.
