Festo is a leading German company supplying pneumatic and electrical automation technology throughout the world. Festo established the “Bionic Learning Network” to explore the principles of nature to provide new insights for technology and industrial applications. Automation technology carries out everyday tasks in factories, such as gripping, moving and positioning goods as well as controlling processes. Animals, insects, birds and marine creatures in nature perform all of these tasks instinctively, easily and efficiently. Over the years, Festo has built a series of extraordinary robotic creatures that analyze and simulate these natural phenomena, to learn from them and propel ground-breaking innovations and inventions. The exhibition shows videos of twelve of their most remarkable bionic creations.
