溥氏曾經多次圖繪西遊記中的人物。這套冊頁共有十二開，畫幅雖然小巧，但筆墨依然精細，呈現詭奇的想像世界。各幅均有題款來標示其內容，孫悟空、豬八戒、唐三藏、二郎神紛紛登場，但並無依照書中故事順序，反似是隨興拈來的場景。相較於原書文字的尖刻諷世，圖中遊戲筆墨，幽默諧謔，頗富趣味，似乎更近於一種超脫現實的避世心情。
The artist Pu Ru has painted many depictions of characters from the novel Journey to the West. This folio comprises 12 panels, and although the pages are small in size, the images are exquisitely painted and vividly depict the peculiar imaginary world of Journey to the West. Each panel is accompanied by a caption describing the scene represented, and the characters Monkey King, Pigsy, Tang Sanzang, and God Erlang appear in succession. However, the panels do not portray scenes according to the text and storyline of the novel. Rather, the panels depict whimsically selected scenes, and in contrast to the caustic satire of the original novel, the images here are playful constructions, deeply interesting, humorous, and amusing. The images seem to hew more closely to surreal escapist desires, and employ animals to reflect another perspective toward the realities of society.
