Outstanding ACE Alumni Award

The Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering (ACE) values the ties with its alumni and believes that every success story is an inspiration to our current students. We are establishing the ACE Outstanding Alumni Award to recognize our alumni who have demonstrated their remarkable achievement and contribution to the Department, CityUHK and our society.  

 

There will be a maximum of one award each year. The awardee will be invited to join the Award presentation session in the CPD Event to be held in October/November.  

 

Nomination Deadline: 31 May 2025

Result Announcement Date: September 2025

Award Date: October - November 2025 (Exact Date to be confirmed)

Eligibility of Nominee

The nominee for the Award must be an ACE graduate of CityUHK who has successfully completed a full-time or part-time programme and attained an academic award conferred by CityUHK.
Eligibility of Proposer

Each nomination shall be proposed by a current academic staff member of ACE at CityUHK or an ACE Alumni.  Each proposer can only submit one nomination. The proposer cannot nominate himself/herself or be a member of the Panel of Judges.
Selection Procedures

1. The Panel of Judges will examine the nominations and make final assessment.

2. Shortlisted candidates will be requested to attend an interview (in July) with the Panel of Judges.

3. The ACE Department may request verification of the information to be provided at the interview.

4. Consent of the selected nominee will be obtained before finalising the list of award recipient.

5. Information of the award recipient will be kept confidential until the announcement of the selection results is made by ACE.
Selection Criteria
  • The major selection criteria include:
    • - the nominee’s personal achievements and contributions to his/her profession/career;
    • - the nominee’s contributions to ACE and/or the community.
Panel of Judges
  • Head of Department, Associate Head of Department and Programme Leaders
Notes
  • 1. The proposer is required to provide accurate information for the nomination.
  • 2. The decision made by the Panel of Judges shall be final and binding.
  • 3. Reason(s) for granting or not granting the Award to a nominee will not be released.
  • 4. An Award granted may be withdrawn at the absolute discretion of the ACE Department should it be deemed necessary.
  • 5. ACE Department reserves all rights to modify the arrangements, rules and criteria of the Award.
