Completion of Library Renovation ¡V Phase One
The Library is pleased to announce that the first phase of the Library Renovation Project is now close to completion. Some of the newly renovated areas, such as the Library Lounge and the Leisure Corner, are now open for public use.
Understanding that the Revision and Examination Period is fast approaching, the Library has converted many newly renovated areas to temporary study and reading areas, so as to provide extra space for students to complete their assignments and prepare for the examinations.
Given that the scale of the Library Renovation Project is enormous, it is necessary for the Library to complete the renovation in separated phases. We sincerely apologize for the disturbances caused by frequent removal and replacement of study desks, chairs and other furniture. A majority of construction works of the renovation project (Phase One) will be completed by the middle of this month. From then on, the Library will halt all renovation related activities, so as to provide a comfortable and quiet environment for our readers. All remaining works will resume in mid December after the end of the examination period.
In order to create a pleasant environment for reading and study, cooperation and support from our readers are essential. In all newly renovated areas, including The Oval, Media Collection Area, the Leisure Corner, the Library Lounge, and all temporary study and reading areas, users are reminded that the standard library regulations applied to these areas.
To facilitate group discussion and interactive activities, the Library would like to introduce to our readers the new zoning system:
|
The Oval and the Library Lounge: Quiet Discussion Zone. |
|
Reading/Seminar Room (next to the Library General Office): Noisy Zone for group discussion. |
|
All other areas: Quiet Zone for study. |
To strike for the highest standard of service is always the ultimate goal of the Library. With the support from Library users, we believe that the renovated Library can better serve readers¡¦ needs and provide them with a brand new experience of reading and study.
Thanks for your kind attention.
