Congratulations!

Congratulations to Prof. Rebecca Chin, who has recently been awarded a Health and Medical Research Fund (HMRF) grant of HK$1,492,600 for her research project titled: “Patient-Derived Organoid Platform for Evaluating Drug Sensitivity and Identifying Long Noncoding RNA LINC01235 as a New RNA Therapeutics to Overcome Chemoresistance in Breast Cancer” (Ref: 12231836).

This project focuses on developing a patient-derived organoid platform to study drug sensitivity in breast cancer and explore the role of the long noncoding RNA LINC01235 as a potential RNA-based therapy to address chemoresistance—a major challenge in cancer treatment. By leveraging innovative organoid technology, the study aims to improve personalised treatment strategies and enhance therapeutic outcomes for breast cancer patients.

The HMRF grant recognises Prof. Chin’s contributions to cancer research and underscores the department’s dedication to advancing biomedical innovation. We extend our warmest congratulations to Prof. Chin on this significant achievement and look forward to the impact of her work!
