Several faculty members of the Department of Biomedical Sciences paid a visit to the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) of Cornell University in Ithaca, USA. The purpose of this trip is to explore collaborations on research and education with our partners at Cornell University.

CityU and Cornell University has established a partnership on setting up the first school of veterinary medicine in Hong Kong. An Interdisciplinary PhD Programme in Veterinary Sciences in collaboration with JCC is an important part of the collaborative efforts. Students enrolled in this PhD programme will have the opportunity of conducting a collaborative research project at CVM for one year. This PhD programme, which has attracted a large pool of high quality students, is open for application right now.

In the three-day visit during 11–13 November 2015, BMS faculty members met with the senior management of CVM, toured the research facilities and discussed potential collaborative projects with professors at Cornell University. The visit further strengthens the ties between BMS and CVM.
