For the 13 years following the inaugural NGO Forum in 2007, the Correctional Services Department (CSD) of the Hong Kong SAR Government and the Department of Social and Behavioural Sciences of CityU have co-organised the annual NGO Forum. Its purpose is to raise public awareness and involve NGOs in the rehabilitation and reintegration into the community of ex-offenders.
The Forums bring together CityU experts, government officials and offender support organisations to discuss and learn more about the policies, procedures and service contents of different stakeholders, paving the way for further collaboration in strengthening the quality of rehabilitation services.
CityU academics, CSD officials and NGO representatives are guest speakers in the Forum, during which certificates of appreciation are also presented to outstanding NGO volunteers.
