Incoming Undergraduate Exchange Students
CityUHK School of Law has entered into student exchange agreements with various institutions overseas. Please refer to the following steps for completing the application.
1. Application
If you would like to join the exchange programme at CityUHK School of Law, please check with your home university whether or not there is an exchange agreement with our School.
The Law School will send an email to you regarding the online application process if you have been nominated by our partner institution.
To apply for exchange study with CityUHK School of Law under the departmental exchange study arrangement, please complete an online application form during the specified application period.
2. Academic Calendar
Please check out the academic calendar for the semester period (Semester A / Fall and Semester B / Spring) and the examination period.
3. Courses to be offered
Please check out the tentative course list (2025-26) to be offered by our School in Fall term. The offering of the courses is subject to review and amendment from time to time.

4. Visa Application
As required by the laws of Hong Kong, any person wishing to study in Hong Kong without the right of abode or right to land in Hong Kong, must first obtain a student visa or entry permit from the Immigration Department.
As it can take 8 weeks or more for student visa/entry permit to be processed, students are advised to submit their applications. For application schedule and procedure, please click here.
Exchange students must take full-time credit-unit load, i.e. at least 12 credits per semester in order to meet the visa requirements set by the Hong Kong SAR Immigration. At CityU, the full-time credit-unit loading are 12-18 credit units per semester. Credit unit is earned by approximately forty to fifty hours of student work.
