In 2023, City University School of Law joined 9 other law schools in Asia became one of the founding members of the Asian Corporate Law Forum (ACLF), which was formed to be the preeminent organisation globally for scholarship on corporate law and governance in Asia. As the ACLF has only one founding member from each represented jurisdiction, it is a tribute to the strength of research on corporate law and governance at the School of Law and the leadership of Professor Wang Jiangyu, Director of Centre for Chinese and Comparative Law that the School of Law is the only law school in Hong Kong represented in the ACLF. The ACLF’s 2024 Annual Conference was hosted on 11-13 April by the Centre for Commercial Law in Asia at Singapore Management University and sponsored by the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI). Selected research presented at the ACLF will be published in a special issue of the Chinese Journal of Comparative Lawpublished by Oxford University Press.
The 2024 Annual Conference also featured a Climate and Corporate Governance Public Seminar where Professor Virginia Harper Ho presented on “Corporate Climate Governance.”
