Professor Jiangyu Wang, Director of the CCCL stated that although China formerly lacked the economic power nor political will to employ legal weapons to respond to the United States’ Sanctions, China has both. He clarified that although China desires cooperation, the United States does not want that. Therefore, the next best option for China is to pass an anti-sanction law.
