Professor Wang Jiangyu, RCCL Director, was quoted in a report in Lianhe Zaobao (聯合早報), Singapore’s Chinese newspaper, on the national security office to be established in Hong Kong under the newly adopted National Security Law. Professor Wang commented on the powers conferred upon the office by the security law and advised that the office shall be cautious in exercising the powers with self-restraint otherwise abuse of power might lead to uncertainty which may undermine Hong Kong’s status as an international financial centre.
