Professor Wang Jiangyu, RCCL Director, commented on the judgment rendered by a British Columbia Supreme Court Judge on the extradition case of Meng Wanzhou, Huawei’s Chief Financial Offer. The judgment dismissed Meng Wanzhou’s application on the ground that double criminality requirement is met in the case concerned. Wang opined that the judgment still needs to elaborate upon why Meng’s alleged “frauds” would constitute offences under Canadian law.
