Ubaid commenced his practice as a barrister in Hong Kong in 2004 and he focuses primarily on personal injuries, professional negligence, contractual disputes, commercial law, insurance and trusts cases. However, he also has an interest in criminal law and undertakes criminal matters occasionally. He qualified as a CEDR accredited Mediator in 2013 and has also acted as counsel in arbitration cases.
Ubaid has been teaching at the School of Law on a full time basis since 2010 and has taught courses in the LLB, LLM, JD and PCLL programmes. He is currently the Director of the PCLL Programme and the co-course leader of the Personal Injuries elective on the PCLL programme. He has at various times also been part of the teaching team for courses in Equity and Trusts, Civil Litigation, Criminal Litigation and Interlocutory Advocacy and Interviewing.
Ubaid was born in Hong Kong and speaks fluent Cantonese.
