Dr Liu
Dr Liu’s CityU Scholars Profile.
Dr. Qi Liu recently joined the Department of Physics as an assistant professor. Dr Liu obtained his BSc degree from Hunan University in 2005 and his PhD degree from Purdue University in 2014. Before joining CityU, he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Argonne National lab in USA. His research interests focused on the structure-property studies of materials via multiple neutron and synchrotron X-ray techniques as well as other techniques. His broadly research activities include the investigation of phase transition, energy storage materials and nanocomposites. In addition to his strong neutron and synchrotron physics background, he also has considerable experience in fabricating and testing prototype batteries including lithium-ion, lithium-sulfur, and sodiumion batteries. Being an outstanding researcher, Dr. Liu has already published 32 papers in peer-reviewed journals including Nature Energy, Nature Communications, Nano letters, Nano Energy etc. and presented 5 invited talks at international conferences.
