Professor Xun-Li Wang, a Chair Professor of the Department of Physics at City University of Hong Kong, was elected to the Board of Directors of the American Physical Society (APS). He will serve a three-year term beginning 1 January 2024. Professor Wang has been a Fellow of the APS since 2010.

Professor Wang conducts research at the interface of condensed matter physics and materials science. He specializes in the study of phase transformation and deformation in advanced materials using state-of-the-art neutron and synchrotron scattering techniques and has significantly contributed to developing instrumentation for enabling sophisticated in situ studies.

The incoming Board members will be joining 2024 officers President Young-Kee Kim, President-Elect John Doyle, Past President Robert Rosner, Treasurer David Seiler, Editor-in-Chief Randy Kamien, and the returning directors. For more information on the Board of Directors, visit the APS website.
