The CityU Undergraduate Info Day 2024 will be held on 5 October 2024 (Saturday). Come and Visit Us, Explore the Innovative Technology in Physics!

It is an excellent opportunity to learn more about our BSc Physics programme, joint degree programme and Talents Programme. You are encouraged to attend our admission talks and drop by our information counter to interact with our faculty members and students. You are also welcome to join our guided tours in the department laboratory.

Admission Talk

*The sessions will be conducted in Cantonese. However, English individual consultations could be arranged on a need basis.

Guided Lab Tours

Topic:	Guided Lab Tour: Innovation Technology in Physics – Demonstrations on Magnetic levitation, 3D imaging, AI image generation for pathology... etc. 實驗室導賞: 創新科技的物理 – 磁浮、立體影像、用於疾病診斷的AI圖像生成技術…等等的展示
	Demonstrations and explanations of principles relating to the experiments and exhibits. A wide collection of fun experiments and exhibits to illustrate important concepts in physics. These experiments reflect the concepts that students will learn in our Physics programme.
	Examples of the exhibits include: - A superconductor is placed above magnets, it can be levitated by this repulsive force (Meissner effect) - Of the many ways to produce a hologram, we would demonstrate a method for producing holograms by using He-Ne laser. - Hands-on experience with traditional pathology "staining", microscope tissue examination, and AI virtual pathology staining.
	Visitors are welcome to touch, feel and operate some of the exhibits, or try performing some of the experiments by themselves.
Time: .	*Morning Sessions* 10:30 AM - 1:15 PM *Afternoon Sessions* 2:30 PM - 5:15 PM Visitors are welcome to join any time during the morning and afternoon sessions.

Venue: .	The demonstrations and experiments are held in the PHY Teaching Laboratory (Room P5701, Green Zone, 5/F, Yeung Kin Man Academic Building, CityU), which is accessible to all visitors.

Undergraduate Entrance Scholarships

Students who fulfilled the following criteria will be automatically considered for the scholarships:

admitted to the BSc Physics program through the JUPAS route; and
have placed the BSc Physics program in the Band A of JUPAS choices; and
have attained 5* or above in any ONE of the specified subjects in English, Mathematics, M1/M2, or Physics.

Each scholarship awardee will receive up to HK$10,000 which is payable in Year 1 and 2.

Adverse Weather Arrangements

In case that typhoon signal no. 8 or above/ black rainstorm/ extreme weather warning is issued on 5 October 2024 (Sat), the University will adopt the following plan:
