Mr Winfred Chan Hon-pun, Director of Happy Brave Trading Company Limited, is a successful entrepreneur with due diligence. Enthusiastic in supporting education institutions in the Greater China area, he has contributed to CityUHK’s development in a variety of ways. His generous donations have sponsored the University’s strategic initiatives and exchange scholarships, while his assistance has led to several significant donations.
Mr Chan is a member of the Board of Governors and the Honorary Patron of the CityUHK Foundation, a member of the Steering Committee of the “United, We Soar” campaign and the CityUHK Industrial and Business Leaders Circle respectively. In 2016, CityUHK bestowed the title of Honorary Fellow on Mr Chan in recognition of his distinctive contributions to the development of, and service to, the University. He has also shared his valuable experience with students by being a life mentor of a Gateway Education course. In 2014, a lecture theatre at CityUHK was named Mr & Mrs Chan Hon Pun Lecture Theatre in appreciation of his benevolence towards the University. He is currently the Director of Buddha’s Light International Association World Headquarters, the Supervisor of Buddha’s Light International Association of Hong Kong and the former President of Rotary Club of Shatin.
In addition to his valued support for CityUHK, Mr Chan has donated generously to Buddhism and charitable causes for years.
