MOU forges closer links between CityU and Food Inspection & Quarantine Technical Center (FICS) of Shenzhen Customs District

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the CityU Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (JCC) and the Food Inspection & Quarantine Technical Centre (FICS) of Shenzhen Customs District on August 21, 2018. The meeting involved, from FICS, Prof.Guiming Zhang (Deputy Director of FICS), Mrs Zechun Hu (Deputy Director of Science and Technology Division), Mr Xiaodong Zhang (Deputy Director of Animal and Plant Inspection and Quarantine Division), Dr Hong Liu (Director of Aquatic Animal Health Laboratory), Dr Xiujie Shi (Deputy Director of Aquatic Animal Health Laboratory) and, from CityU, Prof. Paul Lam (Chief-of-Staff (Vice-President)), Prof. Michael Reichel (Dean of FCC) and Prof. Dirk Pfeiffer (Associate Dean (Research) of JCC).

The aim of the MOU is to facilitate research collaborations, a joint application for an OIE Collaborative Research Centre in the Epidemiology of Aquatic Animal Disease in South Esia Asia, as well as the provision of facilities for extramural studies by CityU JCC students and faculty.
