Dr Shin Dong Hyun is an Assistant Professor of Management at City University of Hong Kong. He teaches a core undergraduate entrepreneurship course, where he lectures on theoretical entrepreneurial strategy and assigns students to create a minimum viable product to help incorporate class concepts into real-world applications. Dr Shin guides students on the process of venture creation including ideation, team formation, marketing and financial strategy, and drafting a mini business proposal.
Aside from teaching, Dr Shin conducts research on how the entrepreneurial ecosystem influences venture performance and how the composition of the entrepreneurial team influences venture strategy.
Dr Shin received his PhD in Business Administration at the University of Florida and received his BA in Economics with high honours and high distinction at the University of Michigan. Prior to joining academia, he worked as a consultant for the Deloitte Transfer Pricing team based in Chicago, Illinois.
