We propose a novel reaction chamber to improve the efficiency of light-matter interaction for purposes such as ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) air disinfection and photocatalytic reactions. The designed cavity enhances light-matter interaction by confining photons, minimising photon escape through the open path connecting the cavity with the environment, and increasing the trajectory of fluids as they pass in and out of the cavity.
