LemonT is a blockchain-based car service and ownership history storage solution. It integrates various data sources, such as the car’s on-board diagnostics, mileage, and servicing tasks entered by the owner or mechanic. This allows car owners to share the detailed history of the car, which can be authenticated, thus disincentivizing fraudulent behaviour, and increasing trust between the car owner and potential buyers.

At the core of LemonT is the LemonT dongle, which accesses the onboard diagnostics and cross-checks the mileage of the car via an OBDII port that is found in all cars. The collected data is stored on blockchain-based ledgers and cloud file storage solutions to ensure its authenticity.

Users can access the information securely from their phones using the LemonT app. They can calculate the value of their car based on the current market conditions and their service history, and the app suggests specific maintenance or service recommendations to maximize the value of the car. For example, it can remind users to check their tire pressure or get an oil change if it has been a while since the last check-up.

LemonT plans to offer sales tools, such as generating easy-to-read reports or images that highlight the car’s history. These can be used by the owner when listing the car on online marketplaces, such as Carousell and Facebook Marketplace. We can monetize the customer’s data by collecting fees for publishing the car history to potential buyers and for the transfer of data ownership in relation to a car’s sale.
