Guardian is an investment fintech startup started by two co-founders experienced in equity research, fintech product management and algorithmic trading. The main solution is copy-trading, allowing users to follow the strategy created by signal providers. Although copy-trading is not a recent technology, Guardian has introduced a brand-new model to the market, with the aim of empowering everyone to be a professional trader. We strongly believe that Guardian will disrupt the existing market through the introduction of blockchain and artificial intelligence.
First, we introduce blockchain for identity storage, strategy sharing and trade records. It is entirely different from the current practice, which is an API call, which prevents followers from backtesting the following strategy in advance and realizing the changing assets and risks during the following period. This is contrary to the followers’ risk-averse mentality. With blockchain, followers can backtest the strategy in advance because they get the code on their side instead of calling the API. However, as followers have access only to the hash file, the security and privacy of the strategy are ensured. Therefore, Guardian enables the best of both worlds for followers and signal providers.
Second, we introduce artificial intelligence for portfolio customization, featuring mainly engineering and simulation. The portfolio settings are different and yield different results during backtesting and execution. Therefore, we aim to use AI to close the gap that targets a minimum change and maximum performance alignment by discovering the most significant factors. This is a completely new practice in the market.
