Integrating Augmented Reality (AR) and Live-Streaming technology into Theatre Education

Our use of AR and live-streaming allows us to create a comprehensive drama education model that benefits children's early development and growth, and promotes the development of drama education in Hong Kong by encouraging more children to take drama classes, either online or face to face.

For our online classes, as a critical part of the project, we will develop a series of teaching and learning materials using AR technology, and cover some classic and well-known scripts through live-streaming. The children can scan triggers with their mobiles or tablets and see the characters and scenes from the scripts, which will give them a more concrete impression and help them understand the scripts better. By integrating AR technology, we will provide children with an immersive learning experience, which will increase their interest and concentration in class, allowing them to develop their communication, presentation and linguistic skills.

The second phase of the curriculum will focus on face-to-face classes. Students will participate in a variety of theatre games, exercises, and rehearsals with our teachers. The students will perform the script they studied in Section One by the end of the course. Rehearsals and performance can help teach the children how to express themselves and cooperate with others, thereby building their self-esteem and confidence, as well as their ability to communicate and work with others.
