A-TCMS (Autonomous Tire Condition Monitoring System)

The autonomous tire condition monitoring system (A-TCMS) is a wireless electronic device that provides a maintenance-free, battery-less solution for monitoring the condition of automobile tires. The A-TCMS has four key design elements: a sensing module, an energy-harvesting module, a control module, and a wireless-communication module. It can autonomously monitor tire pressure and temperature, wheel speed and load, and the contact patch in real time. It wirelessly transfers the information about tire condition to the engine and powertrain control modules in real-time to achieve higher fuel efficiency and driving safety.
