General Manager – Technology Commercialization and Business Strategy, CMA Industrial Development Foundation Limited (CMA Testing)
Mr YK Lau, the General Manager of Technology Commercialization and Business Strategy and the Head of R&D of CMA Testing and Certification laboratories (CMA Testing), joined the company in 2006 and is leading the Local Corporate Business Development and Sustainable Strategy Development.
Mr Lau has extensive working and management experience, responsible for building R&D teams and processes for rapid execution of ideas through open innovation leading to rapid commercialisation for various industry sectors. As working in a functional entity within The Chinese Manufacturers’ Association, he is responsible for developing academic-industrial-government collaboration, technology commercialisation and technology start-up connection, management of funding schemes for supporting technology transfer and entrepreneurship.
Mr Lau has been committed to providing environmental testing and consulting services for various industrial and commercial sectors over the years with his advanced chemical and environmental management knowledge and manufacturing levels of sustainability assessments. He has the qualifications of an Approved Signatory under the Hong Kong Accreditation Service. He was assigned as a Panel Member by the HKSAR Hong Kong Council for Testing and Certification under the Environmental Protection Panel and a Member of the Hong Kong Accreditation Service under the Accreditation Advisory Board. Moreover, he was a part-time lecturer of MSc Program in Analytical Chemistry of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
