Mr Rex Wong is the CEO of Kum Shing Group, a prominent Hong Kong-based international infrastructure and property development firm. Rex is also a fine arts major, an architect and an impact investor.

Mr Wong’s area of expertise is in smart city and sustainable urban development as well as higher education and corporate governance. In recognition of his volunteer work, he is honored as a Justice of the Peace (JP) in Hong Kong.

He is also a guest speaker frequently invited to and featured at numerous influential private and professional events in local and global theatres, most recent ones include ASTRI’s Smart City Forum, InvestHK’s StartmeupHK Festival and RISE Conference Hong Kong. Rex also addressed the opportunities and challenges of urbanization at UN-Habitat’s World Cities Day Forum as an expert panelist.

He received his BFA and BArch from RISD and holds a master degree from Columbia University. In addition to his service to CityU as Council Member, Mr Wong served as a member of the Board of Trustees of RISD (Rhode Island, USA) since 2021, Board of Governors for Brentwood College School (British Columbia, Canada) since 2019 and as President of American Institute of Architects (AIA) Hong Kong chapter in 2017.
